Wipro grows 19% - looking for acquisition
India’ largest BPO service providing company ‘Wipro – Spectramind’ is eager to make acquisition, to strengthen it’s service sector. The company is looking to add value to its BPO services sector that had grown by 19% over the previous quarter.
An Australian consulting and research firm ‘callcenters.net’ have acclaimed that India will be overtaking Australia - very easily – as the most preferred destination for BPO service provider. Nasscom - McKinsey Study-2002 on India's IT strategies has projected a global ITES market worth $141.2 billion by year 2008, with India's share at $17 billion.
BPO industry in India has succeeded in attracting major service providing from offshore. Backed-up by the strong IT infrastructure (that registered a growth of 18.40% for 2002-03), economical manpower and flexibility in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) - BPO industry in India has been continually rising.
