NO Stop for BPO in India!
Is there any indication of the backlash - that is making uproar within the Indian BPO sector? Not really if the surveys and reports are to be believed. As the New Jersey bill – put forward by political outfits to contain outsourcing business to India - found a hampering, 80% of the companies in US – as per Gartner – would continue the outsourcing procedure.
The Indian market is little scared by those bills and petitions. While the labor unions in US are fighting for their rights and against outsourcing - the Indian corporate and government have merged to form BPO Foundation of India (BFI). BPO in India is flourishing high waters. More and more companies are shaping up to capture the increasing outsourcing business that the firms in US and Europe are willing shelf-off to India. As such, the uproar becomes like cat-mew.
By early next month the BFI will start working towards upliftment of the BPO Industry in India. The agency will monitor the progress of outsourcing sector, make comments, suggest and recommend and do all that – that will boost the existing market into a stronger one. 54,000 jobs will be created in the next six months in the BPO sector in India and by 2007 the number would increase to 600,000. Revenues of $13.8 billion would be generated by the BPO sector in India by the year 2007 although only 1.5% of the total BPO market is outsourced offshore.
