BFI Formed To Monitor BPO Progress in India

Representatives of major corporate firms from India in association with government will augment BPO Foundation of India (BFI) to ensure quality output and provide reliability for the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms in India. The nodal body is likely to get started early next month.

The foundation stone for the body is laid to monitor BPO activities in India. The BPO industry in India has shown massive growth during last few years. Already IT outsourcing industry is the largest growing business at present – according to reports. And India has been the major hub for lending outsourcing services due to its low labor cost and strong IT infrastructure. The quality of English also meets the US marketing requirements.

Several governmental state heads have agreed to join the Foundation. These include Kerala, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Delhi. While several corporate giants like GE Caps, Spectramind (Wipro), HCL, CSC et al are already plying their BPO operations in India – the agency would try to rope in more clients from US and Europe where outsourcing business activities are considered as integral these days.
