600,000 BPO jobs by 2007 in India

A combined research by IDC and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry anticipates the annual growth of 32% within the BPO industry in India for the next five years. With the current growth at the Indian BPO industry the total employment is expected to touch 600,000 by the year 2007. Currently India has 150,000 jobs within Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms.

The worldwide growth in the offshore BPO industry is projected to grow by 70%. Reports from research agency Gartner Inc. state India’s BPO revenue at $13.5 billion by 2007.

Several research agencies are monitoring the growth of BPO industry in India. All of them are predicting that India will be realm of outsourcing in coming years – naturally because of low operational cost and standardized quality that the Indian professionals are able to provide. The demand for corporate sectors in the fields of Sales, HR, Finance, Marketing et al will provide a definite boost to the BPO sector in India.
