New Leaps In The BPO Industry In India

Indian BPO revenues amassed to $2.9 billion by the fiscal year ending of 2003, which calculated as a growth of aroun 60%. According to NASSCOM there are more than 200 companies in India availing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and relative outsourcing services.

As a new sign of the strengthening of the existing BPO industry in India various smaller player are looking forward to merge with big-boys of the trade. Even though there is decline in the emergence of newer BPO marketer in India there is no decline in the revenue generation. India – as a cost oriented country- remains the favorite hub for outsourcing and Call Center business in US and Europe. The billion-dollar BPO commerce in India sees no decline in proceeds.

Indian BPO market seems opened up a lot now. Despite stiff resistance from US to ban outsourcing to India (heard of job scarcity in US because of it), BPO segment in India emerged as the winner. US alone has profited around $17 billion (as per NASSCOM) through outsourcing business in India.

“Resistance to outsourcing is restricted to certain local pockets and opening up Indian markets is not relevant to those local interests,’’ quips CEO, Daksh e-Services, Sanjeev Aggarwal – who foresee no connection in outsourcing to India and US disadvantage out of this. BPO in India seems to remain ever strong.
