BPO in India ensure quality but has to control attrition
The Indian BPO industry is going seemingly high and positive on the basis of the fact that by 4 four years time from now India will capture 66% (as per Gartner) of the entire BPO market - going offshore. BPO in India is growing not only due to its nominal rated workforce but also because of the quality of work the employees are able to produce. The exceptional qualities like voice quality - for Call Centers, data manufacturing – due to healthy IT structure – have enabled India a force to be reckoned. Much to the surprise of people in US, who are complaining of massive job losses due to this indifferent kind of migration in services.
ITES and BPO industry in India has grown because some of the major forces that worked a strategy. NASSCOM had undoubtedly attracted its counterpart in US to offshore services to India – while ensuring them quality along with low cost.
Even though the BPO industry in India had been favored in comparison to several service providing countries – there are several leaks in the buckets that this sector needs to keep a check on. The major problem is attrition. Even NASSCOM have addressed the issue lately in its report. The need of the hour is not do the fill-up job but retaining the experienced staff for strengthening the services. High rate of attrition is been recorded this year as well as last year. BPO in India has to retain its manpower by offering them flexibility in work and ensuring that they are not over stressed. BPO industry in India has bright future. To ascertain its long time existence in India – concrete steps have to be taken very soon.
