BPOs Eye Youth In B-Category Towns For Recruitment
BPO’s are now targeting youth in the B-category towns to meet the skilled manpower demand in the ITeS sector, which is estimated to jump to 10 million by 2008 against the existing 70,000. The BPOs are now stepping up operations to tap the talent pool in the smaller towns across the country.
With the increasing volumes of recruitment, BPOs are now focused to look beyond the six metros and increase their presence in smaller towns. The BPOs are also planning road shows, campaigns and even weekend events to attract the middleclass youth from these non-metros to fill in the job demand in the ITeS sector.
Some BPOs are taking the Internet route to reach out to them. Apart from the higher demand, the BPOs are also looking at B-category towns to arrest the high attrition levels in call centers, which is upto 50 percent.
