India tells Asia to put up a brave face against BPO backlash

Recently India and in fact Asia as a whole have been facing a strong BPO backlash from UK and US. Although the backlash has been most fierce against BPO India. And that’s because majority of BPO deals have been coming India’s way. In fact it is joked around that India may soon be called by the name of BPO India.

Union IT and Communication Minister, Mr.Arun Shourie said that Asian countries should take a firm step and take some strong action regarding the backlash against BPO India, China etc, let out by US, Europe, and Australia, and to face these challenges strongly and give a fitting reply. Out of the other Asian countries, BPO India has been a favorite destination amongst multinationals for their Outsourcing activities.

BPO India has actually been an eye sore for the worker unions, and politicians in UK and US, as many BPO jobs have been coming to India. BPO India has been so much in demand because of the low-operational costs here, and also because most our workforce is well educated and has had a university education. BPO India is the top place at the moment and it is poised to stay that way in the coming years too.
