54,000 BPO jobs in India within 6 months

The BPO industry in India is all set to create 54,000 jobs during next six months – reports says. Reports from NASSCOM revealed that 65,000 new vacancies were generated in between January to June. Reports from advisory group Frost & Sullivan – the global call center industry is expected to grow to more than $750 million in 2008 from $237 million in 2002.

Outsourcing services to India is estimated to save investors almost 60%-70% from what it takes in United States and\or Europe. This could be evaluated from the fact that today India pockets in more than half of the outsourcing trade generated worldwide. The BPO sector will employ 225,000 people six months from now, against 171,100 at present.

Proceeds through BPO industry grew to $2.3 billion - an increase of almost 60%. The Indian IT industry also registered a growth of 20%. The growth in BPO in India is the end result of globalization. As governments accepts to exchange trade the lower developed nation tends to get greater advantage and offshore outsourcing is the result of this only. Gartner chief Sujay Chohan says, "The phenomenon of offshoring cannot be reversed. What we are witnessing is a change in the way businesses are evolving in an increasing global marketplace".
