Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) – Enabling Affordable Products and Service

When talking about Business Process Outsourcing, we often comment upon the benefits that multinationals are deriving by outsourcing their non-core processes to BPO service providers, most of whom operate from developing countries. It's not that this is wrong, it certainly is true that multinational companies are the prime beneficiaries. However, the big question is – does outsourcing only benefit multinational companies? Well not exactly because if we take a closer look, we can easily see that outsourcing reduces operational costs, which in turn helps reduce costs of producing products and services. And this in turn allows businesses to make products and services more affordable, ultimately aiding the end-users, i.e. the customers.

As such it would not be wrong to say that outsourcing, in a way, benefits not only the business and the service provider, but is also good for customers the world over. Products and services produced by multinational companies are consumed the world over and it helps customers if they are available at affordable rates. Third-world countries and also some developing countries are presently experiencing a severe shortage of food, which combined with the oil price hike is making survival difficult for people who live in these regions. BPO services may not be able to procure food or reduce oil prices, but by making products and services affordable, it is contributing to the world in its own special way
