Hyderabad rising up the ranks to become a favorite BPO center

GE seems to be loving its time in India. It was one of the first ones to open a BPO center in Gurgaon, India. Now it has opened another BPO center in Hyderabad as well.

Operating out of an area sprawling over 14 acres at Uppal in the city, the new BPO facility will provide specialized IT-enabled support services ranging from data entry to transaction processing and high-end financial and software services. This BPO center will complement the activities of other GECIS centers in Gurgoan, Jaipur and Bangalore in the country.

Employing about 5,000, this will be the largest BPO center for GE in India, which has a total strength of 13,000 for BPO services. While Phase-I of the new BPO center is already under way with an employee strength of over 2,000, entire range of processes at its existing facility at Hi-Tec City will also be relocated soon to the new center.

This move by GE' to open its BPO center in Hyderabad is a prestigious thing for the government and an indication of Hyderabad soon becoming a preferred destination for BPOs.
