There’s more good news for the BPO industry. No longer one has to face the travails of standing in queue for hours waiting for a visa. Apparently, foreign governments are wooing Indian visitors, workers and businessmen in a big way. These embassies have joined hands with some renowned Indian entrepreneurs to set up visa processing centers across the country.
Right from processing your application and answering queries to fixing an appointment at the embassy and delivery of your passport, the visa BPOs will cater to all your needs. The procedure is simple --The visa BPOs will generally charge up to Rs. 440 to compile your documents and send it to the diplomatic mission in New Delhi within three working days. After that, it’s the sole discretion of the embassy to grant an interview. The candidate can fix an interview at a date of his choice.
At present, Canada, the US, the UK, France, Italy, Ireland and Australia have joined the visa BPO bandwagon in India. The BPO industry is booming especially after laxity in the H1-B cap and more countries inviting skilled Indian workers to either work temporarily or immigrate. Some of the major BPO players providing these services are TT Services, a subsidiary of the TTK Group of Companies and VFS India. Apart from servicing several countries in India, they have spread their BPO operations all over the world. Southern India has more number of IT workers as visa applicants; the north has more of students and visitors as applicants. These visitors are chiefly the parents of workers and students.
